IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL PLAT APPLICANTS

If you are submitting a plat between the period between October 1 and January 31, please read the information below and plan accordingly to avoid any potential delays in recording your approved plat.

  • If the taxes for the next year have already been calculated, those new taxes must be paid in full and presented with a Tax Certificate showing a raised seal (not a receipt) showing a zero balance, prior to your plat being recorded with the Clerk's Office. (Section 12.002 of the Texas Property Code). 

  • Regardless of the time, before plats are recorded, the taxes must show a zero balance with a Tax Certificate as described above.

PLAT REVIEW

The Department of Development reviews all plat applications, usually after review of any required civil plans, to ensure they meet the County's requirements.  Below is a general outline of the review process, along with other information needed to submit for review.

ENGINEERING REVIEW

The County Engineer's Office reviews all civil, drainage, and other associated plans to ensure they meet the County's requirements. Below you'll find information about submittals, checklists, and applications.

INSPECTION REVIEW

This department also inspects roads & infrastructure for new subdivisions. Below are the requirements & documents for that process.

REVIEW PROCESS

The Growth Assessment Team reviews developments to ensure compliance with all County regulations to promote & maintain quality growth.  Meeting with the team prior to submitting an application may help minimize potential issues.
